I was a little confused about fermenting vegetables with yogurt whey starters. Can we ferment vegetables with, say l- reuteri, perhaps at 90°F, and use that in place of the yogurt?

Perhaps mashed vegetables like banana or tomatoes (as per the salsa recommendation).
