My dad has saw his cardiologist and has some thickness in is valve and the doctor heard a murmur. Additionally, his EKG showed a right bundled branch. The doctor order a Nuclear stress test and a cartoid ultrasound.
My question is why do a nuclear stress test rather than a CT angiogram? Wouldn't the Ct angiogram give more information. If he fails the nuclear stress test they would have to do an angiogram anyway. I think the radiation is about the same in both tests.
