Happy Holidays 2025!

My team and I wish everyone happy holidays.

As the year draws to an end and we reflect back on what we’ve accomplished over the last 12 months, it’s clear that we accomplished quite a bit. Among the new lessons learned this past year and discussed here, in my YouTube channel, my Defiant Health podcast, and my InnerCircle.DrDavisInfiniteHealth.com website:

  • We continued to witness the power of my SIBO Yogurt recipe for normalizing breath hydrogen gas and thereby small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, SIBO. In fact, I would argue that this unique strategy is superior to antibiotics because a course of antibiotics kills microbes, both “good” and “bad” and does not help restore the hundreds of species lost, while the keystone or foundational species of SIBO Yogurt, combined with strategies such as the consumption of fermented foods, does initiate the process of restoring beneficial species.

  • We’ve discussed the importance of maintaining or increasing muscle mass, strength, and reducing/eliminating myosteatosis, critical factors for long-term health. We’ve discussed how measuring grip strength can serve as a powerful way to track these phenomena, and how an understanding of myokines can further augment these effects. These are some of the principles discussed also in my new Super Body book.

  • We’ve discussed how and why GLP-1 agonist drugs are disasters for long-term health and longevity, even accelerating the aging process, despite the temporary upfront weight loss effects.

  • While many people are focusing on supplementing factors that purportedly increase mitochondrial energy production, factors such as coenzyme Q, lipoic acid, nicotinamide mononucleotide, and methylene blue (which is, by the way, a potent antibiotic and thereby yields disastrous microbiome effects over time), they ignore the disruption of microchondrial function posed by uncorrected endotoxemia that impairs mitochondrial energy production.

  • While some of the practices advocated by “biohackers” can provide benefits, there are also some unsafe practices that endanger people. I believe that the number of deaths from cold water immersion is now in excess of 30—i.e., 30 people have died of sudden cardiac death from exposure to the cold, most likely from coronary artery spasm. No one should be engaging in this dangerous practice.

  • It’s becoming clear that so many health conditions are really manifestations of a disrupted gastrointestinal microbiome. Calcium oxalate kidney and other effects of dietary oxalates, hyperuricemia and gout, increased blood levels of homocysteine, intolerances to FODMAPs, histamine, nightshades, etc.

  • We’ve highlighted the power of Lactobacillus crispatus as a foundational and necessary microbe for the healthy human vagina that reduces vaginal infections, urinary tract infections, and incontinence. It also makes an exceptionally delicious yogurt that I call “vagina yogurt.”

  • We’ve discussed how to better manage the skin microbiome for healthier, more youthful skin by engaging in strategies that, for example, acidify skin pH that discourages overgrowth of undesirable species and encourages proliferation of healthy species.

  • We’ve discussed some of the ins and outs of breath testing for hydrogen and methane gas, how to interpret results from use of the AIRE device, and what to do about abnormal findings.

That of course, is just a partial list of the topics discussed. I’ll bet that if you brought up any one of these issues with your doctor, you will encounter ignorance, indifference, or even ridicule. This is why you will find that I often provide not just the rationale for these arguments but also the evidence—if any personal speculation is involved, I say so. It is no exaggeration to say that many of these insights can be life-changing. If I kept you from dying due to cold water immersion or accelerated aging from a GLP-1 agonist drug, if you reduced endotoxemia and thereby reduced measures like blood glucose, blood pressure, and found relief from depression or anxiety, or experienced a reduction in urinary tract infections or incontinence, then I feel that I have done my job. I pride myself on providing novel but scientifically-valid insights to readers/listeners that are difficult or impossible to obtain anywhere else. And I believe that you can expect more of the same in the coming year.

In the meantime, have a wonderful and healthy holiday.
