The "Search" menu item provides a more sophisticated way to search for Forum posts than the generic Site Search. In addition to seaching for specific search terms,
you may also search Forum posts by last post date, forum name, author, and either within both topics and replies or topics only.
Additionally, you may sort the search results by relevance (ranking), post date, number of views, and number of replies.
Finally, you may also search for Member profiles by Member Nickname.
The "Messages" item displays the number of unopened messages you currently have in your Private Messages Inbox on the Forum.
Click on the "Messages" item to view your Private Messages Inbox.
The "Ask Dr. Davis" feature displays a list of the Top 10 topics Members have asked Dr. Davis to reply to in the last year (with two or more votes).
Members vote for topics by clicking the "Ask Dr. Davis" link associated with each topic (you cannot vote for your own topics).
Once Dr. Davis replies, the topic is removed form the list.
The "Recent Topics" item displays a list of new topics and replies in the last 24 hours grouped by Forum category and name.

The "New Topics" link displays a list of new topics posted to the Forum since your last login. This is a handy way of catching up on topics you may have missed.
You may use the drop-down box provided to select to view anywhere from 25 to 100 of the most recent topics posted since your last login.

The "New Replies" link displays a list of new replies to topics you have posted to the Forum since your last login.

The "My Topics" link displays a list of the most recent topics you have posted to the Forum.

The "My Replies" link displays a list of the most recent replies you have posted to the Forum.

The "Abbreviations List" is one of the most comprehensive lists of medical and health term abbreviations available.
It contains abbreviations used both on the Inner Circle site and the entire field of personal health.
Many abbreviations provide links to additional content both within the Inner Circle and elsewhere on the Internet.
The "Home" link returns you to this list of Forum categories and forums within each category.
Each topic prominently displays a descriptive topic title above the topic message body.
Click the "Reply" button to move to the Reply Editor at the bottom of the page beneath the earlier replies.

The "breadcrumb" navigation line displays the path within the Forum that takes you to the current topic.
It is formated like this: Member Forum (the Forum Home page) >> Forum Category >> Topic Title.
You may click on the Member Forum and Forum Category to move to the Home Page or the Forum Category listing containing the current topic.
Each topic page displays up to 100 replies (99 on the first page and 100 thereafter) to limit pages to a manageable length.
When there are more than 100 replies they are displayed on separate pages.
Click the "Page" drop-down to select the desired reply page.
Each topic and reply displays a profile of the Member who created the post. The Profile contain the following information.
Nickname: You selected a Member Nickname when you became a Member
(this is typucally different than your Member Username that you use to login but can be the same if you set it up that way).
Your Nickname is how you are identified by other Members on the Inner Circle website. This techniques prevents disclosure of your Username.
Avatar: Members are assigned the default Member Avatar at sign up but can change it in their
Member Profile.
Inner Circle staff Members are identified by the word "Staff" appearing below their avatar.
Join Date: The date the Member joined the Inner Circle.
Posts Contributed: The total number of topics plus replies contributed by the Member.
Total Likes: The number of "Likes" give to posts by the Member from other Members.
Recommends Recd: The total number of other Members who "Recommend" the posts of the Member.
You can add Member Recommends on your
Account Notifications page.
Ignores Issued: The total number of other Members being "Ignored" by the Member.
You can "Ignore" Members on your
Account Notifications page.
When you ignore a Member, that Member's posts are not visible to you nor can the ignored Member post replies to your topics.
Like It!: Click the "Like it!" link to add a "Like" to the topic or reply.
YOu cannot Like a post more than once and you cannot Like your own posts.
Likes Recd: The total number of "LIkes" received by the post from other Members.
Ask Dr. Davis: Click the "Ask Dr. Davis" link to cast a vote to have the topic answered by Dr. Davis.
The topics with the most votes are moved to the top of the of topics to be reviewed by Dr. Davis
(you can check the Top 10 topics receiving vote by click the "Ask Dr. Davis" link on the Forum menu.
If Dr. Davis has answered a topic the link will be replaced with "Answered by Dr. Davis."
Send Private Message: Click the "Send Private Message" link to send a private message to the Member.
Private Messages can only be read by the Member it is sent to.
If the "Send Private Message" link does not appear in the profile it means the Member does not accept Private Messages.
Note: If you send a Private Message to a Member but do not have your "Private Messages" setting set to "Yes" in your profile
Account Notifications
the Member will not be able to reply to your Private Message using the Private Messages feature.
When you ignore a Member, that Member's posts are not visible to you nor can the ignored Member post replies to your topics.
Each topic and reply can display two dates.
Posted: The original date and time the post was submitted.
This date also contain a link providing direct link access to the post.
It may be copied in the event you want to share a link to the post on another site.
Edited: The time and date the post was last edited.
The number in parenthesis to the right of the date and time is the total number of times the post was edited.
Once a post is created there are several controls that can be used to modify the post.
Subscribe/Unsubscribe: Click the "Subscribe" link if you wish to receive a notification eack time the topic receives a reply.
If you are already subscribed to the topic click the "Unsubscribe" link to stop receiving reply notifications.
Members can be notified of subscribed replies by email and/or Private Message.
These settings can be found on the
Account Notifications page.
Quote: Click this link to place a copy of the post message on your PC clipboard.
This can be useful if you wish to quote some portion of a post in your reply.
Edit: Click this link to open the edit post page. Review additional post editing Help on the edit page.
Delete: Click this link to delete a post. You can only delete posts you submitted
Back to Top: Click this link to go back to the top of the current page.

Adding keyword tags to your post helps other Members find your posts and boost the Search rankings considearably.
Follow the directions under the Message Editor to optionally add a list of keyword tags to your post.
Always select existing keywords displayed in the dropdown list that match your typed keyword to avoid keyword duplication.
