Hi, me again with more questions.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver about 10 years ago after statins caused my liver enzymes to rise. Since stopping the statin my ALT/AST hover around the upper limit of the reference range. I don’t have any GGT results, and I don’t know if one was done prior to what’s available for me to see online. I have an anti-smooth muscle antibody titer of 1:40. I haven’t been able to find much info on this test.

My PCP wants me to see the GI for a follow up. In 2018 I had an ultrasound and elastography.  I’ll post those results below in a new reply.

Since starting WB WOE in Feb of this year, 30 lbs gone and 60 more to go, my LFT’s have dropped:
AST 26 on 11/25/19 to 12 on 7/10/20  ref range 10-35
ALT 30 on 11/25/19 to 12 on 7/10   ref range 6-29

My questions are:
Is it too soon in the WB program to expect any liver changes?
Should I wait for the ultrasound or go ahead and do it now?
Is the anti smooth muscle titer significant?

Thanks for all comments.

Incredibly, the low-fat diet advocated by the doctor makes fatty liver WORSE. Such is the status of modern dietary and health advice that actually worsens or causes health problems.
