I am at 16 fl. oz per day now.  I have zero diarrhea.

In a recent blood test, (before the Mg Water), my Mg Serum was 1.58 ng/dL which is below normal reference interval -- FDA minimum for Mg serum is 1.8 ng/dL. I know I should of had the Mg RBC blood test, but doctor ordered this instead because insurance would cover it.

It turns out this blood test sufficed this time since it shows I am badly deficient as suspected; I was having aura migraines and visual disturbances. The visual disturbances aren’t related to anything inside the eye, as I have had my eyes dilated and inspected by an opthalmologist -- retinas are perfect.  I had bad visual disturbance (grey shadow) for like 24 hours before I ultimately had an aura migraine.  So this tells me that Magnesium deficiency can cause visual disturbances as well as migraines (whether the classic aura type or not) -- i.e. visual disturbances in the brain, Mg is an electrolyte after all.  [We also did an ultrasound on my carotid because a blocked carotid can sometimes cause visual disturbances -- my carotid was just fine.]

Should I up the Mg Water dose to the max of 24 oz per day since I am so deficient? 24 oz per day is the max right?  Then test Mg RBC in 6 months?  Keep in mind I’m 362 lbs if that makes a difference in my dose.

Right now as I type this I see intermittent faint black/grey spots flying around my field of view in both eyes, as if insects were flying in front of my face inches away.  Visual disturbance.. wow I wonder how long it is going to take for this Mg Water to kick in .. I only started getting these visual disturbances when I got severely dehydrated back in Nov of last year, after losing weight (in ketosis) along with taking a diuretic (which I stopped recently).  I am thinking the dehydration depleted my remaining stores of Magnesium or something.  It’s gotta be the Magnesium... either that or I have a brain tumor.. maybe a brain scan is next if the Mg Water doesn’t work..

The retina or macular are some of the things that are imaged with a scan of the back of the eye, you could be seeing what are called floaters.
