What do you think about this video from Chris Masterjohn, PHD?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ziwh7yNsxno

I have the VDR Taq homozygous (+/+) mutation.  I have no other VDR mutations.  (Got this info from raw 23AndMe genetic data run through Genetic Genie to show me my Methylation profile.)

He says Vit D 25 Hydroxy level of say 30-40 ng/mL could be sufficient if you don’t have VDR mutations, but you might need 60-70 ng/mL if you have a VDR mutation.

He discusses how one can test for Parathyroid hormone (PTH) as well as Calcitriol to determine if you have enough vitamin D 25 hydroxy.  Like if Calcitriol and Vit d 25 hydroxy are in the normal range but you still have HIGH parathyroid hormone, it could be due to the VDR mutation, and would benefit with more Vit D supplementation.

Just wondering if it would be useful to test the PTH and Calcitriol as well, since I have this homozygous VDR Taq mutation.

Yeah it’s just that I have the homozygous mutation.. would feel better if it was heterozygous or no mutation :)
