I’ve been taking 5000 IU of D3 in gel caps with olive oil for like 4 years now.

Back in Dec of 2017 I was at 54.6.  But this year in Nov 2019 I was only at 38.3.

Any ideas as to why it could be lower?   I’ve since doubled my D3 to 10K IU per day.

I do have the homozygous mutation for VDR Taq in Genetic Genie Methylation Profile (using 23AndMe raw data).  I guess this might have something to do with why I have problems with Vit D?  My brother was at 11 ng/mL the other day!  He’s on 15K IU per day now.  I am guessing he might have this same mutation.. need to order the 23AndMe test for him too.  He’s been suffering severe depression the past 6 months and started on anti-depressent.. I am sure it was probably just due to the Vit D deficiency.  I read that Vit D is needed to make the enzymes to create dopamine.. we are probably both low on dopamine from this VDR Taq mutation.

Boo, oh thanks for that.. that could explain things.  I had lost a lot of weight when it was 54 vs. the 38 it is now, taking the same dose of 5000 IU every day.

In my case the fluctuations in serum levels happened without fluctuations in weight. With a constant BMI of 20.
