I have been off grains and sugar for a couple of years now, but every once in a while I get a craving for something like a croissant.  I had one the other day and I was wondering, could that trigger something like knee swelling within a couple of days?  I couldn’t understand why my knee had some swelling -- my joints are definitely stiffer as I age, but I’ve never injured my knees.

Before Wheat Belly, my knees were definitely having issues, they would swell if I exercised too hard on the stationary bike or just did too much walking/standing.  I had to give up any jogging, but I could handle walking.

They were pretty good for the last year, now my right knee is swollen for 3-4 days and is stiff and painful.  Could there be a correlation with this type of inflammation and having grains again?

Thanks!
Virginia

Joint pain is usually the #1 indicator that I have had some wheat sneak into my food. I also used to have quite a bit of knee pain which completely went away with the WB lifestyle.

Yep, that’d do it! Same here for being wheated and suffering arthritis-like ramifications!

Hypothetical situation...if someone on the grain free program were to drink one "Sam Adams Wheat Ale" could they expect to have some sort of negative response in an allergic or immuno fashion similar to having a muffin or croissant?
