I have had back problems for a while; relatively severe for the past several months (this was the original reason I went to see the doctor about a month ago).

Apart from the regular Undoctored diet and supplements, is there anything else I could do to improve the current situation? Below are the MRI results (lower back)

HISTORY: Radiculopathy, lumbar region \E|E\ M5416

TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar multisequence MR images were performed. No intravenous
contrast material
administered.

COMPARISON: None

FINDINGS:
The vertebral body heights are preserved. There is normal alignment and marrow
signal. There is L2-L5
disc desiccation with mild L2-L3 disc space narrowing. The conus terminates at
L1-L2.

At L1-L2, there is facet arthropathy without significant stenosis.

At L2-L3, there is facet arthropathy and disc bulge with posterior annular tear.
 There is moderate
central canal stenosis and moderate right and mild left foraminal stenosis.

At L3-L4, there is facet arthropathy and disc bulge. There is a subtle
broad-based disc protrusion at the
level of the left neuroforamen. There is mild bilateral foraminal stenosis. No
central canal stenosis

At L4-L5, there is facet arthropathy and disc bulge. There is effacement of the
anterior thecal sac.
There is no definite stenosis.

At L5-S1, there is facet arthropathy without stenosis.

IMPRESSION:

1. Multilevel lumbar degenerative disc disease and facet arthropathy.
2. Moderate L2-L3 central canal stenosis
3. Mild to moderate L2-L3 and L3-L4 foraminal stenosis

I highly recommend this book for identifying and helping to resolve muscle pain.  Where it hurts might not be where the problem is.  Clair Davies, Trigger Point Therapy Workbook
