This is for Pat.  His field.  It’s long but interesting. Yes, you need to log in, but then it’s free.

 Some tidbits: 1)undercarboxylated osteocalcin crosses the BBB and has positive effects on cognition  2) Osteocalcin actively promotes increases in muscle mass with exercise.  3) Osteocalcin is involved in cross talk with leptin. Energy metabolism is affected such that osteocalcin promotes lean body mass.  4) Lack of osteocalcin is associated with a decrease in male fertility.
