Dr.Jorge Flechas gave a great presentation on boron in 2013.

Boron has a role in preventing osteopenia and osteoporosis. It also prevents height loss and decreases in bone density. Some of its actions on bone health are due to its effects on steroid hormones.

Boron prevents all categories of arthritis. It also decreases existing arthritis and arthritic pain. Boron supplementation reduces the urinary excretion of calcium and magnesium. Boron plus magnesium supplementation can  result in negligible calcium loss in urine and prevent the formation of calcium oxalate kidney stones.

Boron makes testosterone biologically active by converting it to DHT. It assists in preventing prostate cancer. Boron tablets should never be taken before going to sleep because boron wakes up the brain. Iodine tablets also wake up the brain.

Boron helps bones regenerate and supports the cell-survival rate within bones, which in turn helps regulate proteins in the bone and makes bones stronger. This is a natural process, but as you age, it slows down. You can help your body get back up to previous levels with a daily dose of boron. In addition, the mineral supports calcium, vitamin D, and magnesium metabolism, all of which are necessary for healthy bones and joints.
