HH, would it be possible for you to add total HDL-P to the data vault? The new NMR format has reduced the number of interesting parameters they give you to 4. These are LDL particle number, small LDL-P, large HDL-P and total HDL-P. The first 3 are in the data vault already, but not the last one. It would be a big help in evaluating people's data if you could add total HDL-P, because IMHO, both large and total HDL-P play a role in reverse cholesterol transport. You substitute it for IDL-P, because the NMR report no longer gives that number.
One other suggestion, could you regroup the NMR data into a single place, so that a person who has just got NMR results could go to the NMR place and put in all his or her data? That might reduce the number of times when one or more of the NMR values gets omitted. Since Dr. Davis recommends the NMR test over all the other lipoprotein tests, and most people here get at least one NMR test, there is a lot of NMR data to look at, and having it conveniently all in one location in the data vault would minimize data omission and data errors. The easier you can make the data entry process, the more good data you will get. Also, identifying the data as NMR data is more definitive than just having the units in nmol/L, because some new people may not realize what that means and enter mg/dL data where it's not appropriate.
