Hi All:

I have purposefully posted this topic on the "Chit Chat"  forum to accentuate the fact that this is strictly my personal opinion.  It may elicit all manner of replies but keep in mind it has nothing to do with Dr. Davis nor the Infinite Health program.  It is for "entertainment" purposes only.

I recently came across this "perspective" in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Fair Allocation of GLP-1 and Dual GLP-1–GIP Receptor Agonists

That the lead author is Ezekiel J. Emanuel should come as no surprise and that he is, in my not so humble opinion, a shill for big pharma and that he reeks of a "Death Squad" mentality is further solidified.  Please read it and see if you come to the same conclusions as I did.  Given this is purely a knee-jerk reaction, I would welcome more calmly reasoned perspectives.

1. Emanuel suggests that the "poison" we know as GLP-1 agonists (e.g. Ozempic, Wegovy et al) is being monopolized by those with the ability to pay and should be equitably distributed to the less fortunate.  OMG, yes, let’s make certain the less fortunate suffer the same ignominious fate as the well to do.  Emanuel loses all scientific credibility with his myopic view of GLP-1 agonists and functions as a legitimizing shill for big pharma.  This ain’t no "wonder drug" being hoarded by the rich and well-connected.

2. Emanuel further suggests that availability should be predicated on how many more years you may be kept alive - and I quote, "Time alive is a good to which all people have equal claim, and young patients have had less time alive than older people."  Yeah, F-off Emanuel!  Given I am pushing 70, and even though I am not interested in your GLP-1 "rat poison," I will fight you tooth and nail, as an individual irrespective of race, religion, national origin OR wealth, to stay alive.  In what twisted world does the "tyranny of the masses" trump the rights of an individual?!

Yeah, let’s spread big pharma BS and BTW, would all you old people just go away. This might work if you are a nameless, faceless ant or bee drone working for the queen but it is pure and dangerous horse manure if you are a human being!

Harrumph (thanks for letting me spout)!
