Good day,

I wanted to ask a few clarifying questions about carbohydrates, sugars and their relationship within a SG protocol compliant dietary regimen.

I know from the SG text that carbohydrates should be limited to 15 grams per meal. Is this 15 gram limit independent from sugars that may be consumed alongside the meal i.e. if a fruit juice contains carbohydrates (of which sugars) of a given amount, say 5 grams, does that mean that the 15 grams in the main meal would need to be reduced by 5 grams to remain SG protocol compliant. Or is it the case for instance that because the 5 grams in the fruit juice is in a different form (sugar), this would mean that its rate of absorption would be different and thus it would not accumulate with the blood sugar increase from the main meal carbohydrates?

Also I wanted to know if sugars occurring naturally in products, such as pineapple juice - e.g. NUTRITION: Typical Values > Carbohydrates 12.3 grams of which Sugars 12.3 grams - counts towards the sugars to be avoided as per the SG guidance, or whether the sugars to be avoided only include those pertaining directly to the identified SG text (page 177: sucrose, dextrose, high-fructose corn syrup, coconut sugar, maltose, maltitol, maltodextrin, rice syrup, etc) compounds?

Thanks, Arnold.

I think it is important to not forget alcohol, either. It is digested like fructose and affects the liver the same way. It also has no nutritional benefits so empty calories.

Thanks Blue Eagle. I hadn’t explicitly considered alcohol. Doing a quick search on the site I can see that alcohol is certainly bad news and is very counter-productive with regards one’s Infinite Health repair programme(s), not to mention fatty liver.
