To all our friends celebrating Boxing Day the world over.

Being 25% Irish (with two red-haired sisters and a red-haired mother born on St. Patrick’s Day whose middle name was "Patricia") I am familiar with Boxing Day and wish all a Happy Boxing Day and celebrate along with everyone observing a day rooted in noble tradition.

I do request someone with more historical knowledge to help me out.  Given that the traditional Boxing Day (December 26th) falls on a Sunday this year, is it still common to regard Sunday the 26th in such cases as "Christmas Sunday" and therefore celebrate Boxing Day on the 27th?

Happy Holidays,

HH
