Hello all,

I’ve recently rejoined the community and I’m getting the core supplements together to commence the program.
12 months ago my Vit D, 25hydroxy level was 28.5 ng/mL and I was prescribed 50,000 IU weekly. I took those for a few weeks but ended up getting the Naturewise brand with 5,000 IU D3 as I was concerned with taking such a high level.

I suspect that I had a reaction to the capsules.  I broke out in an itchy rash that got progressively worse.  Initially I thought I was being eaten alive by fleas or ticks even though I couldn’t find any ticks embedded in me.  After a few days I realised the only thing different I had done was to introduce the Naturewise capsules.  The itchiness subsided after a few days of stopping the capsules.  The label says that the oil is EVOO.  Can you have a reaction if your Vit D levels are sufficiently high or is it more likely a reaction to those specific capsules?

I was thinking of getting D3 + EPA/DHA.  the members mark brand is in my cart.

I had a quick look back through the forum but couldn’t see any posts calling out to me about a reaction to VitD.  The itchiness was on par with a tick bite where I wanted to scratch my skin off so I’m a little wary of taking the capsules again but at least I will stop them sooner this time if a reaction does occur.

I’ll get updated levels in a blood test in a few days/weeks.

Your thoughts appreciated
thanks
Wendy

Wendy, by capsule do you mean actual capsule or gel cap?  I use a D3 gel cap that’s coconut oil instead of EVOO.  So much EVOO has been found to be fake, I try to avoid it.
