HeartHawk - Have you thought about soliciting the aid of members while putting together the new site? As one who is involved in development, accurate requirements gathering is paramount for the long term success of any project. I would see no reason for TYP to be different.
So, I'd like to hear other ideas that other members have regarding the site. Here's another one (along with the "banning" function I mentioned in another thread). Can you implement a tracking mechanism for posts / posters. By that I mean, some posters when caught in lies or misinformation go back and edit their posts to remove the destructive commentary.
Since TYP management is either reluctant or unwilling to protect the majority of members and posters from subversive forces by permanent bans, perhaps you'll consider eliminating the ability to retroactively edit posts. With a 100% cooperative community this would not be a problem. However, given the current constitution of the user community, I find it appropriate to protect the integrity of the data / forum.
I'm sure you'll have some commentary as to why you can't do that. To that, I'll comment in advance: I tell my staff at work: Don't tell me what you CAN'T do, tell me what you CAN do.
Integrity of data and the threads is crucial to me. I look forward to your response, and further input my other members.
