I’ve recently discovered that I am hypo-thyroid with high Reverse T3 - I read up on a number of posts here to educate myself and bought some of the recommended books "Stop the Thyroid Madness" being one of them -- and got myself all set up to begin a "T3 only" treatment, only to discover that the T3 was over-stressing my adrenals - because apparently my adrenals are fatigued. So now even a cup of coffee makes me feel like I’ve been punched in the kidneys (or adrenals, I guess), and I’m really kind of clueless as to how to get these adrenal glands healthy again.  I’ve started seeing an acupuncturist, and have increased my Vitamin C intake, started taking Isocort (because I have low cortisol throughout the day) and I’m searching for more help on this subject. How much exercise is good at this point?   Are there any OTC supplements that will help?  I have relatively low sodium and potassium in a recent blood test - but my iron levels look ok.  I’ve put the T3 on the shelf until I get my adrenal glands feeling better.
Thanks,
Susan

You might find some help, reading Dr. James Wilson's book on Adrenal Fatigue.

I think that the book is available on Amazon.

Ashwagandha is often recommended for adrenal support. Lconnolly told me about it.

Krikor - thanks for your kind and encouraging words - I know we walk the same path right now - and I wish you the best also.  Do you have high or low cortisol?  How are you dosing your Cytomel?

Hi,
I removed my comment because found my answer in the Super Gut book. L. reuteri lowers cortisol so it will help with adrenal response. Was not able to delete my comment...
